MY VISIT TO MANEKLAL JETHABHAI LIBRARY

While chatting with my dad, I found out he used to visit MJ Library to read. That made me curious, so I decided to go too!

I took the BRTS alone for the first time 🚍—a fun little adventure!

The library’s old design with jalis and chajjas looked beautiful. I learned it was built by Claude Batley and opened by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in 1938. Even Mahatma Gandhi donated books here!

The ground floor has fiction, non-fiction, and books in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. The second floor has a kids’ section and books for women.

It was peaceful, calm, and full of stories.
Highly recommend a visit! 📚
